Personal Approach
My way of working is to allow you to find your own pace and to discover your own meaning in what you bring. I provide a non-judgemental, accepting and safe environment for you to explore whatever brings you to counselling at this time.
Any feelings or thoughts you have are valid and legitimate, even if they don’t make any sense to you at the time, because they reflect your own experience.
For example; a lot of people feel sad when they lose a parent but some people feel relief, or gladness or just nothing.
Some people don’t know how they feel and this can be because they feel swamped by how others say they should feel.
Experience
I have worked as a counsellor in three different University Counselling Services, a charity for people with low incomes and Hampshire County Council.
Prior to my counselling training I worked with people with learning disabilities, people with hearing loss, deaf blind adults and young homeless people.
